Rognstranda Camping: This year's NBCC Top Camping 2018
Each year NBCC awards one of NBCC's Top Campsites as the Top Campsite of the Year. This time, the choice at the family-owned Rognstranda Camping fell into the Rognsfjord in Telemark. NBCC president Petter AM Nilsen presented the award 13. May to CEO Rolf Kenneth Lønnberg. Bamble municipality was represented by Mayor Hallgeir Kjeldal.
The first guest to spend the night in a tent at what is today Rognstranda Camping, did so in 1919, while the campsite began operating in orderly forms from the 1960 century. The family has over three generations developed the campsite to become one of the best in Norway. The campsite has approx. 120 seasonal places and 100 guest places with electricity, but there are also guest places without electricity. There are several camping cabins and two beautiful year-round apartments on the second floor of the reception building where the apartments have a living room with fully equipped kitchenette, two and three bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with washing machine.
New service building
There are two service buildings on site, the reception is located in the newest service building which receives top marks with welcoming facilities for all guests. There we also find our own, popular department for the children. They can also have fun at a great big playground with adjoining ball binges for the campsite's diverse guests. A new drainage facility, which is currently only open to gray water, is located at the entrance to the campsite itself. The campsite has all the necessary amenities that guests may require, such as their own beach shop with a good selection.
President of NBCC, Petter AM Nilsen, notes that the election of Rognstranda Camping as this year's NBCC Top Camping 2018 was fully in place, and many will work well to get on par with the campsite of general manager Rolf Kenneth Lønnberg. NBCC department Telemark was represented with department head Jan Helge Knutsen, who presented the flower greeting. NBCC region 9 was represented with regional leader Jørn Anders Brunsvik. In addition, Visit Telemark and the newspaper Varden were present.
NBCC congratulates and wishes good luck on the further operation and development.
