Galdhøpiggen - Welcome to the ceiling!

Would you like to find the mountain shoes and experience the highest mountains in Northern Europe? Then you will head for Lom in Jotunheimen.

There are two trails to the top - the heavy ride up from Spiterstulen, and the easier ride from Juvasshytta.

From Lom to Juvasshytta takes about 40 minutes by car, and you are not so keen to push the car up to the parking lot at 1850 m so goes the bus from the center of Lom.

Is there a hot summer down in Lom, as you know very well that you go up in altitude; bring warm and windproof clothing! From Juvasshytta there is a duration of an hour to go into the glacier. From there it is a guide over the glacier, before the final leg to the summit. Well up it's hard to find a better view.

Remember to bring your money - on top of Galdhøpiggen find a kiosk that can not only help you with supplies if you need it, but here you get among other things, buy a t-shirt as real proof that you've been to Norway's highest mountain - 2469 m

Return you should expect 6-7 hours but this includes good time in connection with the crossing of the glacier. It is a wonderful experience for the whole family. Age Limit for glacier hike is 7 years. All tours organized from Juvasshytta. Remember money for part of the way from Lom and up to Juvasshytta is private, and you have to pay toll.
