Haugesund - in the heart of Haugalandet
Haugesund is a town and a municipality in Nord-Rogaland on the west coast of Norway. Haugesund is perhaps best known as a shipping and industrial town today, but it was herring fishing that built the town in its time.
Here you can both visit the Dokken museum, which is open in the summer and gives you an insight into what Haugesund was like 150 years ago, and the Karmsund Folk Museum, which will tell you about the city's exciting history.
Good trip!
