Saltstraumen Camping

Saltstraumen Camping is located a stone's throw from the bridge over Saltstraumen would waters. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains in the midnight sun.

Plus Camp Saltstraumen is located along the Coastal Highway (Rv17), only 33 kilometers from Bodø. From the camping there 2-3 minutes to walk down to Saltstraumen, the strongest maelstrom. Saltstraumen can reach a speed of about 24 knots and the formation of large eddies when it runs at its strongest.

From the campsite there varied terrain, and some of the paths along the stream are accessible by wheelchair. Proximity to mountain areas with many attractive summit, both summer and winter. Saltstraumen has abundant marine life, and fishing is possible from the country, or we can convey boat. Saltstraumen Dive Camp is located in the same premises and offers diving and snorkeling in the stream. City life in Bodø is only 40 min away with shops, cafes and restaurants, a rich konsertliv, Nordland and Norwegian Aviation Museum.

Accommodation

Plus Camp Saltstraumen has 19 cottages and 2 apartments with shower / toilet, television and dishwasher. We also 4 simple huts for accommodation, many tent sites and ca. 80 caravan sites. In the newly renovated service facility finns showers and toilet divided into small separate rooms, and a family bathroom.

Cabins without water 2 bunk beds: Old huts with simple standard for 4 people (1 2 bedroom with bunk beds). In the living room table and chairs for 4 people, TV and refrigerator. Apartment 30: Apartment 3 bedrooms 6-8 people. 2 1 bedroom with family bed, (ie. 1 double bed with single bunk above) and 1 bedrooms with double beds. Bathroom with toilet and shower and underfloor heating. Proper kitchen with stove, coffee maker, microwave and dishwasher.
